How to get to Mount Field National Park

To get here, you will need to drive to Mount Field National Park Visitor Centre. The park is accessible by car following the Brooker and Lyell highways. Expect roughly a 1.5-hour drive from Hobart on well-maintained sealed roads the entire way.

Unfortunately, you won't find any public transport or organised tours stopping at Lady Barron Falls. However, if you're in Hobart and you're dying to explore the wonders of Mount Field National Park, I'd suggest booking a full-day trip which also includes a tour of Mount Wellington and more.

THREE FALLS CIRCUIT TRACK TO LADY BARRON FALLS MOUNT FIELD NATIONAL PARK

What to Expect on the Lady Barron Falls Walking Track

It is best to visit this waterfall by taking the Three Falls Circuit track from the visitors centre at the entrance to the National Park. This 6-kilometre circuit encompasses the best natural attractions at Mount Field, including Russell Falls, Horseshoe Falls and the famous Tall Trees Circuit.

Most walkers will regard this track as very easy. That's because the entire track is wide, cleared and very well maintained for the entire loop. You will also find that the loop is relatively flat until the end, where hikers will need to climb a steep wooden staircase up the gully to return to the visitor centre.

Hikers will find the cascade tucked away in the corner of the forest. This lush waterfall cascades down an 8-metre drop before gently snaking its way down the gully. There is a wide boardwalk-style viewing platform at the base of the waterfall which provides an excellent place to take photos.

Below are some of the images that I captured during my visit to the waterfall on the Three Falls Circuit.

Hi. We went to Russell Falls a few years ago. Not knowing of the other Falls were there. We attend to go back again and see the other falls there in 2022. Probably in September /October months. Can't wait to get back there and see all the magical Falls Tassie has.
