1. Cloud 9

Cloud 9 Siargao is perhaps the number 1 tourist spot on the island. If you didn’t know already; Siargao is the surfing capital of the Philippine! And, this particular spot is ranked as one of the top 10 surf spots in the world.

The Cloud 9 Pier is one of the most popular spots to hang out at, surf or watch the pros do their thing. You’ll find this one at the northern end of General Luna.

2. General Luna

General Luna is the primary tourist spot and travel hub of Siargao. This is the place where 99% of people stay when visiting the island.

General Luna is approximately 45-minutes from the airport and has a main street called “Tourism Street”. Here, you’ll find loads of resorts, cafes, chill bars, restaurants, local eateries, surf schools and nightclubs. If your in the search of a Siargao tourist spot to base yourself at, this is it!

3. Maasin River – the Most Iconic Siargao Tourist Spot

The Maasin River has become a famous Siargao tourist spot for its bent palm tree rope swing. If you hit search on Siargao on any social media platform you’ll likely see reels and photos from this particular spot.

The Maasin River is approximately 30 minutes from General Luna if you’re exploring the island by bike. Otherwise, you can book a very popular Land Tour, which visits this river swing, among many more great travel spots on Siargao.

4. Daku Island

Daku Island is one of the three main islands just off the coast of General Luna. Most people visit this island on a combined island hopping trip which also visits (spoiler) Guyum and Naked Island.

Daku is the largest island of the three, featuring a reaching sand spit and a dense forest of coconut palm trees.

5. Guyam Island

Guyam Island is one of my favorite tourist spots on Siargao. You can walk around this epic little sandbar island in under 5 minutes. It’s complete with white sand beaches, dense coconut trees and a tiny little basketball hoop in the centre.

If you’re looking for a spot to visit in Siargao for secluded tropical island vibes, then this is it.

6. Naked Island

Naked Island is the third tourist island off the coast of General Luna in Siargao that most people visit on an island hopping trip.

Unlike the others, this island has absolutely no vegetation and is nothing more than a small sandbar surrounded by tropical blue waters. In my opinion, it’s one of the the most picturesque islands because of this. Pure island minimalism!

7. Sugba Lagoon

Sugba Lagoon is one of the Siargao tourist spots that I definitely recommend not missing out on! These blue lagoons are seriously something from another world. You can get here on a day trip from General Luna, cruising in a Bangka (Filipino outrigger boat) through the Del Carmen Mangrove Reserve.

Once you arrive, you’ll discover magical emerald green and blue lagoons to swim at. There’s also a famous diving board, some cliff jumps as well as SUPs and kayaks to rent at the floating hut.

8. Kawhagan Island

Kawhagan Island rivals Guyam Island as the most iconic tropical island off Siargao. Whilst a little further away from the main tourist spot of General Luna, it’s still definitely worth a visit.

The interior of Kawhagan Island is covered with coconut palm trees. There’s an awesome sand spit where you can swim as well. If you’re looking to get away and just relax, don’t miss this one.

You can get to Kawhagan Island by booking a trip to Sugba Lagoon, since these trips also stop by here for an hour or so on the way back.

9. Sohoton Cove

Did you know that one of the most epic Siargao tourist spots isn’t actually on the island at all, but on the neighboring Bucas Grande. Sohoton Cove is an adventure playground, featuring caves, incredible blue lagoons and lush, rolling mounded hills and islets.

Thankfully, getting to Sohoton Cove is quite easy and you’ll have the option of either booking a day-trip from General Luna or riding to Dapa and getting the ferry to Socorro.

10. Magpupungko Rock Pools

If you’re strolling around the popular tourist places in General Luna, you’ll be bound to see some signs advertising this incredible spot. The Magpupungko Rock Pools feature a series of natural tidal pools that are incredibly blue!

If you visit at low tide, you’ll find deep pools to swim in. There are also large boulders around the pools that you can climb and jump from!

Tip: Magpupungko is included in the very popular Siargao Land Tour

11. Palm Tree Road (Coconut Road)

Besides the Maasin River palm tree swing, the Palm Tree Road (Coconut Road) is perhaps the most popular Siargao tourist spot to snap photos at. This particular road is a section of Siargao’s Circumferential Road that wraps around the island.

The reason why it’s so popular is because of how picturesque this straight stretch of palm-lined concrete road is. While there are many roads on Siargao that are similar, none are as iconic.

12. Pacifico Beach – An Emerging Siargao Tourist Spot

If you’re willing to venture out of General Luna, you’ll be treated with more long stretches of white-sand beach and pumping surf!

Pacifico Beach is renowned for having some of the largest surf breaks on the island. While it’s not a pumping hub (yet), Pacifico Beach is definitely an up and coming tourist spot on Siargao, especially for big-wave surfers.

There’s also an awesome abandoned lighthouse on the far north side of the shore which is the perfect spot to perch and watch the sets roll in.

13. Taktak Falls

Taktak Falls is the only waterfall on this list of Siargao tourist spots. That’s because it’s the only waterfall on the island!

You’ll find this awesome little spot on the far northern end of Siargao. There’s a deep pool beneath this jungle waterfall, as well as a big tree branch serving as a jump spot (make sure to check depths first).

14. Tayangban Cave Pool

Tayangban Cave is an awesome little micro-adventure located near Pilar (just 10 minutes from Magpupungko Rock Pools). You’ll find this off-the-beaten-path Siargao tourist spot just off the Circumferential Road.

For 100 pesos, you can get a guided tour, wading through waist-deep water into the large caverns. There are also two very deep cenotes here where you can swim and jump into.

15. Alegria Beach

For the explorers and adventurers looking for Siargao tourist spots without the crowds, head to Alegria Beach in the north. This beach isn’t famous for surf, but is a great spot to chill and unwind at.

This stretch of white-sand beach is lined with shallow, turquoise waters with tropical reef. As with most beaches on the island, you’ll also find hundreds, if not thousands of palm trees to climb and collect some fresh coconuts from.

Tip: Unwind at Alegria Beach after a long day of exploring other northern attractions like Pacifico Beach, Magpupungko Rock Pools and Taktak Falls.

16. the Palm Tree Viewpoint

One of the most iconic viewpoints on Siargao is the Palm Tree Lookout at the top of the hill out from General Luna. This particular tourist spot isn’t really marked as one, but everyone knows about it.

If you’re heading out on a motorbike or scooter to explore for the day, leave early from General Luna and try to make it up to this awesome palm tree viewpoint for sunrise– you won’t be disappointed.

17. Shaka Cafe

I’d say it’s unfair to do a deep dive into the best Siargao tourist spots without at least mentioning Shaka Cafe. This awesome beach-side cafe is famous on the island for its incredible barista coffees and healthy smoothie bowls.

Shaka Cafe is located on the beach right next to the Cloud 9 Pier. While it’s not the cheapest eat in town, $5 will get you a healthy breakfast right on the beach, where you can watch professional surfers shred at one of the best surf spots in the world.

18. Secret Beach

The final item on this list of Siargao tourist spots is the (not-so) Secret Beach. I’m assuming this beach used to be fairly unknown but is now quite popular, especially with beginner surfers. That’s because the surf is much more tame but consistent, with small rolling sets coming through all day.

Secret Beach is located approximately 20 minutes from General Luna by motorbike by following the rolling hills along the coastline to the west. If you continue on Union Road past Union Beach, you’ll get to a straight section of road. Here, you’ll often find motorbikes parked beside a narrow jungle trail. This is the way to Secret Beach!

When planning accommodation on Siargao, you’ll want to know that the main tourist hub is called General Luna. Here, there is solid tourism infrastructure like hotels, resorts, guest houses, restaurants, clubs, bars and tour offices. Below are my favorite picks for where to stay.

Tip: I’ve written a comprehensive Siargao accommodation guide as well which goes into a lot more detail on places to stay, don’t miss it!
